Plaster Mold Castings from B&R Industries reproduce precise details quickly, accurately and economically. Tooling costs are modest. Design changes are easily accommodated - ideal for prototypes as well as production. We produce zinc or aluminum castings to military or commercial specs, quickly quoting your CAD files. In-house masters and stereolithography available.

For prototyping & limited volume metal castings (up to 5,000 parts and sometimes more), plaster mold castings are extremely price competitive. Masters are provided either IN HOUSE using conventional MODEL-MAKING, or stereolithography patterns - all of which are provided in short time-frames. Typical first parts are available within a 3-5 week lead time.

From a male plug, or pattern, a plaster mold is prepared. Metal is poured into the mold, allowed to cool, after which the mold then is broken open to expose the casting. CNC MACHINING capabilities are offered in-plant for finish machining of cast parts.

Plaster mold castings compete favorably on a part to part basis with sand casting, precision sand casting, investment casting, permanent mold dies, die casting and machining and V-castings. CAD files are easily accepted and quotations are turned around in short time frames - some as quickly as 60 minutes. This is an excellent process for parts required for market evaluation, design review, or customer presentations, as well as low volume production or interim production while die cast models are being fabricated, creating a bridge between first parts and production volumes.
